Adeptus Custodes Wave Brings Multiple Kits and Products Next Week
Seven-plus Legio Custodes kits hit pre-order Saturday, April 11, splitting the Battle Group bundle into individual plastic SKUs for the first time.

Games Workshop's Legio Custodes wave rolls into its second phase this weekend, with pre-orders opening Saturday, April 11 around 1 p.m. for the full spread of individual plastic kits that were locked inside the Battle Group box since its April 4 release. For Custodes players who missed the $255 launch bundle or simply want multiples of a specific unit, this is the window.
Leading the charge is the Shield Captain, wielding an eternity blade and praesidium shield and offered with two head options, helmeted or bare. The character can be fielded as either a Shield Captain or Tribune depending on your list, which gives the kit genuine flexibility for Horus Heresy roster-building.
From there, the wave expands into four separate Sodality kits. The Custodian Guard box builds six warriors armed with legendary guardian spears, and one can carry a magisterium vexilla, the faction's banner standard. The Sentinel Guard kit offers a defensive counterpart, swapping spears for sentinel warblades and heavy praesidium shields across a six-model squad. The Venatari Sodality, the standout newcomer not previously available outside the Battle Group, equips six jump pack troopers with either kinetic destroyers and tarsus bucklers or verutum lances for aerial-charge builds. Both the Guard and Sentinel kits include full helmeted and unhelmeted head options, including female sculpts that were a headline feature of GW's earlier reveal.
The armored support also goes individual. The Contemptor kit builds either the Achillus or Galatus variant Dreadnought. The Caladius Annihilator Grav-tank, previously a resin-only Forge World kit, arrives here in plastic, mounting twin Iliast cannons. The Coronus Grav-carrier rounds out the vehicle line, capable of transporting a full six-model Sodality while adding twin Arachnus blaze cannon fire support. A selection of Black Library titles accompanies the model releases.
Individual kit release dates are pegged to April 25. The Legio Custodes transfer sheets, 165 decals for Dreadnoughts and 210 for vehicles, shipped with the Battle Group but will be relevant to anyone painting the standalone vehicle kits from scratch.
The broader context matters for scheduling: this wave drops during a dense stretch of AdeptiCon coverage and 11th Edition preview noise. GW is threading two tracks simultaneously in 2026, pushing high-profile edition-level announcements while keeping faction-level product pipelines moving for players whose main concern is their next painting project, not the meta horizon. For Custodes collectors, seven-plus SKUs appearing in a single pre-order window is exactly the kind of concentrated release cycle that makes it worth clearing a weekend.
