A long‑overdue plastic Vyper has finally returned with a rotating turret and dual-build flexibility as a Craftworlds Vyper or Corsair Starfang, and it comes packaged in the Eldritch Raiders Battleforce alongside Prince Yriel and Kharseth the Aethyrmancer. Warhammer Community highlighted the Vyper as a refreshed classic and described the standalone release of the Vyper and Corsair miniatures as coming up very soon.

The new Vyper kit contains one sprue with two medium-sized segments, a small transparent sprue offering half-open and completely closed windscreens, a transparent stand, and a 105mm oval base, according to the unbox and sprue breakdown from Taleofpainters. Joel, Warhammer Community’s resident Asuryani expert, called it “a sleek homage to a beloved kit that has been part of the hobby for almost 30 years,” noting that the original Vyper dated back to 1997 and had been one of the oldest kits in the Aeldari collection.

The Eldritch Raiders Battleforce inventory is specific and substantial. It includes Prince Yriel in full Corsair regalia with a helmet option, Kharseth the Aethyrmancer, identified across coverage as the Void Dreamer, ten Skyreavers that can be built as a single ten-man unit or two five-man units, and ten existing Corsair Voidscarred alongside returning Voidreavers. Goonhammer praised the new Yriel: “The new Yriel model is a fantastic update, keeping so much of the character of the original sculpt while modernizing it to stand alongside the other stunning models of the Aeldari character range.” On Kharseth, Goonhammer added that the miniature “sees the Void Dreamer realised in miniature form for the first time” and highlighted the helm as “a particular standout piece,” while noting the model now sits on a 40mm base.

Reviewers and painters have put the kits through modelling and display coverage. Taleofpainters ran a comprehensive unbox with a 4K video, high-res sprue images and Patreon bonus content, awarding the Vyper/Starfang an 8 and the overall Eldritch Raiders Battleforce a final verdict score of 9. Goonhammer’s Dan “Swiftblade” Richardson reported that painting his Yriel “was a treat,” and that his finished model was even featured on Warcom. Beastsofwar’s captions emphasize that the Starfang can be built as the classic Vyper and that the new design preserves the Vyper’s mobility for board tactics.

Not all impressions are uncritical: Taleofpainters called out the Skyreavers as modular and compatible with Voidreavers parts but said their poses are “somewhat awkward” and do not always capture expected Aeldari grace. Practical rollout details are in view: Prince Yriel’s rules and Corsair rules are slated for inclusion in The Maelstrom supplement and will be published free on Warhammer Community and via the Warhammer App, and Spikeybits lists separate availability from the Eldritch Raiders Battleforce beginning February 28. With a modern Vyper, a refreshed Yriel and Kharseth model now realised in miniature form, expect this wave to reshape Corsair lists and Aeldari table builds as the Maelstrom releases roll out later this season.
