McFarlane Toys Reveals Captain Cyrus Figure Ahead of Dawn of War IV
McFarlane's Captain Cyrus in Phobos Armour is Elite Edition #7 at $59.99, with 22 articulation points, tied to the fully confirmed Dawn of War IV.

Before writing off Captain Cyrus as tie-in merchandise for an unconfirmed game: Dawn of War IV is real. Developer King Art Games and publisher Deep Silver announced the title at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025, targeting a 2026 Windows PC release on Steam. No exact date is locked, but the game is in active development with trailers and marketing in circulation. Captain Cyrus's Phobos Armour didn't come from a concept art folder.
McFarlane Toys opened pre-orders for Elite Edition #7 on March 19, pricing the figure at $59.99. At 7 inches (177.8mm), Cyrus is a collector's display piece, not a tabletop proxy, and the gap between him and a standard Primaris model is worth quantifying: set him next to a Primaris Intercessor on a 32mm base and the height difference is roughly 4.5-to-1. That ratio puts him closer to Titan crew territory than Captain scale. What the figure does offer painters is a studio-quality Phobos Armour reference at a size where every panel transition reads clearly without a magnifier.
The Phobos connection matters on the hobby bench. The lighter scout-pattern armor Cyrus wears is the same suit seen on Infiltrators, Eliminators, and Reivers across Games Workshop's current Primaris range, and its broad, relatively flat chest and shoulder surfaces are where highlight recipes either land or fall apart. The McFarlane sculpt renders those panels in crisp relief at scale, making it a practical guide for mapping first edge highlights and locating recess shade points before committing to a coat of Contrast on an actual kit.
The accessories in the box are generous for the $59.99 price point: Instigator Bolt Carbine, Chainsword, Bolt Pistol, Combat Knife, an alternate unmasked head, two alternate hands, a removable Power Pack, a display base, an art card, and an ELITE points card. Ultra Articulation across 22 moving parts means Cyrus can be posed in firing and combat stances that don't exist in the static GW kit range, which also makes the figure a useful photographic reference for kitbash planning.

Cyrus ships as part of a wider McFarlane Warhammer 40,000 wave tied directly to the Dawn of War IV promotional calendar. Alongside him are a Blood Ravens Infiltrator priced at $34.99, a Dark Angels Sternguard Veteran, and a Space Wolves Grey Hunter. The Blood Ravens placement at the head of the wave is deliberate: the chapter sits at the centre of the Dawn of War series narrative, and the Infiltrator figure signals that McFarlane's selection logic is tracking the game's faction focus, not just the broader tabletop meta. Pre-orders are live at Walmart, Amazon, BigBadToyStore, Entertainment Earth, GameStop, and McFarlane's own store, with spring 2026 ship windows varying by region.
Dawn of War IV is set on Kronus, the planet from Dark Crusade, and launches with four playable factions: Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanicus, Necrons, and Orks. The game's 2026 window means the Captain Cyrus figure may land on display shelves before the opening cinematic does, but at 177.8mm of Phobos-armoured resin, he'll be a useful addition to any hobby space long before the campaign launches.
