Huntsville Yoga Week returns with free outdoor classes across city landmarks
Seven free, all-level classes will span Huntsville from the Orion to MidCity, giving beginners a no-cost way into yoga and regulars a new outdoor circuit.

Huntsville Yoga Week will spread seven free classes across some of the city’s best-known landmarks, turning a single week into a citywide invitation to roll out a mat. Light On Yoga Fitness has scheduled the event for May 11 through May 17, with one class each day at The Orion Amphitheater, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, The Village of Providence, Clift Farms in Madison, Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium, the Huntsville Museum of Art and Artemis Pavilion at Mid City.
The setup lowers the barrier for newcomers and gives experienced practitioners a reason to sample places they may not usually practice. Light On Yoga Fitness says every class will be free, all-levels and open to anyone, and no prior yoga experience will be necessary. For offsite sessions, walk-ins will be welcome, with a waiver available before class begins for anyone who does not register online.
The opening night class at The Orion Amphitheater is set for Monday, May 11, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and class starting at 6 p.m. The venue listing says the session will be free and open to anyone, making it one of the most visible entry points of the week for people who want to try outdoor yoga in a familiar public space.
Light On Yoga Fitness also will make its in-studio classes completely free during Yoga Week, while aerial yoga will cost $5 per class. That mix gives the week a broader reach than a standard drop-in promotion: it is not only a way to fill studio space, but also a chance to move yoga into the city’s public landmarks and pair practice with local businesses and neighborhood destinations.

The event also fits into a larger Huntsville pattern. Light On Yoga Fitness co-owners Hannah Sledd and Connor Humphrey started the studio in 2020, and the week has grown into a recurring citywide showcase. A 2025 schedule featured stops at places including Stovehouse, Campus 805, Lowe Mill, Big Spring Park, Back Forty Beer Company, Constitution Park, Ditto Landing, Orion Amphitheater, the Botanical Garden, MidCity District, Joe Davis Stadium and Toyota Field, showing how widely the series has already moved across town.
Huntsville’s wellness calendar already includes other free outdoor programming, including the city’s 2026 Fitness in the Park series. Yoga Week now adds another familiar, highly visible route into public exercise, with recognizable venues and a simple message: show up, no membership required.
