Yoga Journal Adds On‑Page Listen Button to Let Readers Hear Stories
Yoga Journal added an on-page listen button so O+ members can hear stories, a move aimed at accessibility and on-the-go convenience for readers.

Yoga Journal has rolled out a text-to-speech player on story pages so O+ members can listen to articles instead of reading them. The new “listen” option sits under the headline and an audio-play icon appears on both mobile and desktop; the feature is intended to make content more accessible and to fit into readers’ routines.
The announcement, published January 26, 2026, describes the experience as straightforward: “It’s pretty simple. Click the ‘listen’ button in the top left corner of your chosen story to hear it.” Yoga Journal’s article also states that the new audio functionality is “Available only to O+ members, the ‘listen’ option under the headline of each story lets you catch up on our latest without gluing yourself to the screen.” The site displays a screenshot with the TTS button circled and a photo credited to Canva showing a woman in headphones using the feature.
Access is restricted to O+ subscribers. An O+ membership provides full access to audio versions of articles across several titles in the network, including Yoga Journal, Outside, SKI, Backpacker, Climbing, and Triathlete. Membership also includes access to the Trailforks and Gaia GPS apps. Yoga Journal’s announcement carries the label “Powered by Outside,” which appears in the site header.
On cost and promotions, Yoga Journal lays out concrete figures: “A membership usually costs $7.49 per month, but if you sign up before the end of the month, January 31, you can save 26 percent on your membership with the code NEWYEARS26.” That time-limited discount runs through January 31, 2026, so readers deciding to try the audio feature have a short window for the reduced rate.
Editors framed the launch around inclusion and convenience: the editors say the feature is intended to make Yoga Journal content accessible. The site pictures listening as a natural fit for yoga readers’ habits, noting you can “listen to your favorite YJ stories whenever the moment is right, whether that be en route to class or on your daily mindfulness stroll.”
For readers, the change means a new way to absorb articles during commutes, while preparing for class, or during a relaxed cool-down off the mat. To hear stories, look for the audio-play icon in the top left of article pages and click the “listen” button. If you want the introductory discount, sign up for O+ membership by January 31 and use the code NEWYEARS26; otherwise expect the standard $7.49-per-month rate.
