Bonnie Locket plans Ibiza self-wedding with $25,000 yellow-diamond ring
Bonnie Locket made her Ibiza self-wedding a jewelry story, unveiling a custom three-carat yellow-diamond ring worth more than $25,000.

Bonnie Locket turned her Ibiza self-wedding into a jewelry statement, centering the ceremony on a custom three-carat yellow-diamond engagement ring worth more than $25,000. The 38-year-old creator, who has 1.6 million Instagram followers, said she chose the yellow stone to echo the Ibiza sun and the future she has created for herself.
Locket said the ceremony was meant to “change the meaning” of trauma after she said she had been disappointed by men and cheated on in her marriage. In another interview, she said, “This can’t end in infidelity, and I won’t be hurt by myself.” That emotional framing is what gives sologamy, the self-marriage ritual, its force. It is symbolic rather than legally binding, but it borrows the visual language of weddings and uses it to mark a personal vow instead of a union.

For jewelry design, that shift matters. Traditional bridal rings usually lean on white diamonds, cool metals and the familiar signal of a partner’s proposal. Locket’s ring kept the engagement-ring silhouette but changed the meaning of the object itself: a self-gift, not a promise from someone else. A three-carat center stone is substantial by any measure, and the yellow diamond gives the piece a warmer, more individual voice than the standard colorless solitaire.
That is why the self-love ring trend has started to register beyond novelty. The setting and metal may stay private, but the symbolism is visible at a glance: a ring that reads as commitment without the usual script of engagement and marriage. Celebrity examples remain rare, which is part of why Locket’s ceremony has drawn attention, but the idea has precedent in other symbolic self-weddings. In Locket’s case, the ring does not point toward a future bride; it points back to the wearer, and that may be the clearest design statement of all.
