Kacie Adkison thought she was going to dinner. What she walked into instead was a trail of flowers leading to a gazebo, her 10-month-old daughter Blair in Cole McBee's arms, and a 3.16-carat diamond ring.

The Bravo star proposed to his girlfriend on Friday, November 7, presenting her with the 3.16-carat ring. The couple, who star together on *The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys* on Peacock, announced the engagement in an interview with People magazine, with Cole detailing how he involved their 10-month-old daughter, Blair Collins McBee, in the moment.

The stone is substantial: at 3.16 carats, a round brilliant of that weight commands immediate presence on the hand, and the flower-saturated setting Cole chose matched it in intention. Kacie described the moment she understood it was real: "I realized it wasn't a prank when I saw Cole and Blair walk out, and the whole trail up to the gazebo was covered in flowers. I wanted a lot of flowers included in my proposal. I was very happy and very shocked." She told People she was so overwhelmed that "I started crying. I feel like I blacked out from emotion, so I couldn't do anything. I was extremely caught off guard. I still can't believe this happened."

Keeping the secret from Kacie was its own feat of engineering. "Kacie is the biggest spy, she knows everything going on, and we were able to keep it a secret," McBee told People. "It surprised her, and that was the number one thing I wanted." Their 10-month-old daughter Blair was involved in the special moment. "We 100% included our daughter. We want to include her in everything we do. She's our whole world and our whole life," McBee said. Kacie had already told Bravo's The Daily Dish in September that she envisioned Blair as part of any future proposal: "Becoming parents has brought us so much closer, and I feel confident in our relationship to take that next step. Blair will be a beautiful flower girl, and that makes it even more special."

The couple has had an on-again, off-again romance since meeting through a mutual friend more than five years ago. Viewers of the show watched their hesitation play out in real time. In Season 2, Episode 8, Cole enlisted his mom, Kristi McBee, to help him select an engagement ring, though he soon learned Kacie wasn't quite ready for such a big step. Her reluctance then was not about Cole but about timing: "I don't wanna get engaged just because it's the next step in our relationship. I wanna get married because, like, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you… I don't ever want us to not be together, but… I don't wanna rush into anything. We still have time to fix things." The birth of Blair Collins McBee on December 13, 2024, shifted the calculus entirely.

Both families, it turns out, had been in on the plan. "The McBee family is super excited," Cole told People. "They already considered Kacie family, but now she's just officially family." Kacie was equally stunned by how well everyone held the line: "I know my family is very excited. They've considered Cole family forever, and I can't believe none of them gave it away. They're not good with secrets."

Looking ahead, the couple already knows what they want from a wedding: "I want a big wedding," McBee told People, while Adkison added, "We would like to do it early October, late September of next year, but it just depends. And we want to do it on the farm with a mechanical bull." Based on People's photo credit in the engagement announcement, the proposal appears to have been filmed, meaning fans will likely see the moment unfold in Season 3.
