Gina Kirschenheiter reveals 6-carat engagement ring with family symbolism

Gina Kirschenheiter’s 6-carat engagement ring came with a prototype, and she later called the backup version “fake as f—k.” The finished ring was made in partnership with Wove, set in 18-karat yellow gold, and centered on an oval diamond flanked by three smaller stones on each side.

The layout gives the ring a strong visual balance. The oval center stone lengthens the line of the hand, while the three stones on each shoulder add sparkle and breadth without taking attention away from the main diamond. In yellow gold, the setting reads warmer and more structured than a simple solitaire, with the side stones acting almost like a frame around the center stone.

Travis Mullen proposed on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025, during a family ski trip in Big Bear, California. Kirschenheiter and Mullen had been dating for more than six years when he asked her to marry him, and the proposal unfolded in the middle of a holiday vacation with all six children present. Kirschenheiter has three children with ex-husband Matt Kirschenheiter, Nicholas, Sienna and Luca, while Mullen has three children from a previous relationship, Presley, Bennett and Joseph.

That family structure is built into the ring itself. The center diamond represents Kirschenheiter and Mullen, and the six smaller stones stand for the children, turning a classic oval engagement ring into a compact family symbol. Kirschenheiter said she was in “complete shock” when Mullen proposed and later called the ring “absolutely perfect.”

The proposal was first confirmed on January 7, 2026, and the story returned on the July 9 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County, where Kirschenheiter revisited the surprise and the last-minute ski trip that set it in motion. She said she had been distracted by holiday weight gain and broken nails before the proposal, which only sharpened the contrast between the casual family getaway and the polished ring that emerged from it.
