Lindsie Chrisley Is Engaged, Boyfriend Asks Todd Chrisley for Permission on Instagram

The photo David Landsman posted to his Instagram Story on March 24 was unassuming by celebrity standards: a kitchen shot, his hand holding Lindsie Chrisley's, a diamond ring catching the light on her finger. The message layered over the image, however, made it anything but ordinary.

"@toddchrisley may I have your daughter's hand in marriage?" Landsman wrote, tagging Lindsie's father directly on the post. The image confirmed what fans of the "Southern Tea" podcast host had been speculating: Chrisley, 35, and Landsman, a real estate broker, are engaged.

The ring made its debut in the most domestic of settings, Landsman holding Lindsie's hand against a kitchen backdrop, the stone center-framed and unambiguous. There was no grand formal shoot, no choreographed backdrop of flowers or candles. The choice felt deliberate: a private moment made public specifically because of the person being addressed.

Landsman's decision to tag Todd Chrisley in the announcement carried as much weight as the proposal itself. Lindsie has been estranged from her father since he suspected she helped federal investigators pursue charges against him for tax evasion and conspiracy to commit bank fraud. In November 2022, Todd was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, while his wife Julie received a 7-year term. Both were pardoned by President Trump in May 2025, though the family fracture endured. Lindsie denied ever cooperating with investigators, but the rift persisted. Asking for permission on Instagram, publicly and by name, read as something between an outstretched hand and a statement of intent.

Lindsie's history with marriage has never been simple. She famously eloped with Will Campbell in 2012, a decision that became a long-running point of contention with Todd, who openly disapproved. She and Campbell divorced in 2021 after nine years together; they share a son, Jackson, now 13. In a 2023 interview with People, Lindsie was clear-eyed about what remarriage would mean to her: "I would not go into another marriage with the option of divorce. That might be an option for somebody else, but it will not be for me."

That statement now reads as context for everything Landsman appears to have understood before he bought the ring. The ask was public, the setting was ordinary, and the stone was the least complicated thing in the frame.
