Tanishq Opens 10th U.S. Store, Its First in New England
Tanishq's 4,000-sq-ft Westborough showroom, its 10th U.S. store, targets nearly 40,000 Indian households across Massachusetts and neighboring states.

Tanishq's newest American boutique sits in a former Westborough, Massachusetts retail space at 303 Turnpike Road, but its ambitions reach well beyond Route 9. The 4,000-square-foot showroom opened on December 4, 2025, and formally celebrated its launch on March 6, 2026, marking the brand's 10th store in the United States. It is the first Tanishq location in New England and the first in the Boston metropolitan area.
The grand opening featured a ceremonial ribbon cutting and traditional lamp lighting, followed by remarks from community leaders and dignitaries. Guests experienced a cultural program featuring a classical Bharatanatyam dance performance and a fashion showcase highlighting Tanishq's collections. Distinguished guests included Raghuram S., Consul General of India; State Senator Michael Moore; Westborough County Representative Mark S.; and Town Coordinator Laura Crawford.
The growing Indian diaspora population in the region had already led to the appointment of the first consul general of India in Boston — and his presence at the Westborough inauguration underscored just how much commercial and cultural weight this opening carries.
"Opening in Westborough marks an important milestone for Tanishq as we establish our presence in New England," said Amrit Pal Singh, Head of Business, North America, Titan Company Limited. "Our 10th location in the United States reflects the growing appreciation for Indian craftsmanship and we're excited to introduce Tanishq's heritage of gold artistry and contemporary design while continuing to expand across the U.S."
The showroom carries more than 5,000 designs spanning bridal collections, festive wear, statement pieces, and everyday essentials. The store showcases a broad portfolio including bridal jewelry, wedding collections, diamond jewelry, and contemporary daily-wear pieces in gold, diamond, and gemstone lines, positioning it as a full-service destination rather than a specialty boutique.

The demographic math behind the site selection is hard to argue with. Massachusetts and neighboring New Hampshire and Connecticut are home to nearly 40,000 Indian households, creating strong demand for bridal, festive, and everyday fine jewelry. The expansion is capitalizing on the longtime Indian diaspora in the United States: the country hosts the largest Indian population abroad, with 5.69 million people, more than half of whom are descendants of earlier immigrants, according to India's Ministry of External Affairs.
With the Westborough opening, customers across Massachusetts and New England have a new destination for Indian fine jewelry beyond the traditional Oak Tree Road market — a reference to the Edison, New Jersey corridor long regarded as the center of the U.S. Indian retail universe.
Tanishq is a jewelry brand from the Tata Group, owned by Titan Company. Xerxes Desai founded the company in 1994, and its headquarters are in Bengaluru, India. The company has more than 400 retail stores across India, North America, the Middle East, and the Far East. It has expanded rapidly in the U.S. with stores in New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Santa Clara, and most recently, Virginia, Orlando, and now Westborough.
The showroom was opened to customers in December 2025, with a formal grand opening celebration held on March 6, 2026 — a three-month gap that suggests Tanishq moved quickly to serve the diaspora market ahead of the winter wedding and festival season, then used the spring inauguration to formally plant its flag in the region with civic pageantry to match.
