Trésor Collection wins INSTORE award for multicolor sapphire earrings
Trésor Collection’s sapphire hoops took first place at INSTORE, proving that under-$5,000 can still mean 18K gold, 15.23 carats, and real design presence.

Colored-stone earrings under $5,000 rarely feel this resolved. Trésor Collection’s Mosaico Florentine earrings won first place in INSTORE’s colored-stone-under-$5K category, and the judges singled out the pair for its “Beautiful use of color and pattern” and for being “Colorful and bold, yet delicate and wearable.”
That balance is the reason the category matters. At $4,950, the earrings sit squarely in accessible-luxury territory, but the material story reads well above the price: 18K yellow gold set with multicolor sapphires totaling 15.23 carats. In a market crowded with gemstone jewelry that can look either overly precious or too casual, Trésor found the middle path. The gold gives the stones warmth and structure, while the mixed sapphire palette supplies the visual movement that makes the piece feel finished rather than merely decorated.

The design also reflects the brand’s own point of view. Trésor says the Mosaico collection was inspired by the beauty of light seen through a palette of the finest colored gemstones, a concept that makes sense here because the earrings rely on contrast and rhythm rather than one dominant center stone. That approach is what separates elevated multicolor jewelry from novelty: the colors need to converse with one another, not compete. In this case, the result is polished enough for day and vivid enough for evening, which is exactly why the pair reads as wearable investment jewelry rather than occasion-only sparkle.
The competition around it underscored how broad the under-$5,000 field has become. Shula NY took second place with an 18-inch emerald-and-onyx pendant, while Amáli placed with opal drops, showing that the category stretches from bold color to softer, more lyrical gemstone statements. Shula NY’s own 14K pendant listing, priced at $4,970, includes black onyx, 22 diamonds, one center emerald and four additional emeralds, a useful reminder that this price bracket can still buy complex stone combinations and strong design.

INSTORE’s 11th annual Design Awards drew 229 entries across 31 categories, and colored gemstones stood out as especially strong this year. The public gallery made the point visually, with entries such as Mother of Pearl, Turquoise & Diamond Bracelet, Bujukan Black Onyx Huggie Drop Earrings, and Serenade Sapphire Pendant Necklace illustrating how many different forms everyday fine jewelry can take at this level. Trésor’s win suggests the best pieces in the category do more than offer value. They deliver proportion, color discipline, and the kind of craftsmanship that makes $4,950 feel considered rather than merely affordable.
