73rd Bangkok Gems Fair Opens with Layering Trends, Global Opportunities
The 73rd Bangkok Gems at QSNCC brings more than 2,800 booths, over 1,300 companies and a 150 million USD trade target, spotlighting finished parts and OEM/ODM services for layering and sourcing.
The 73rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair opened at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) on 22–26 February 2026 with organizers projecting more than 2,800 booths, over 1,300 companies from more than 20 countries, and a trade-value target of 150 million USD. Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) materials and the event press conference emphasized expanded floor space - the Plenary Hall on Level 1 added more than 200 booths - and a renewed push to link finished jewelry parts, cut and uncut stones, and original design manufacturers to global buyers.
DITP Director-General Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij chaired the Jan. 22 press conference that set those targets; press materials record her words in part: “Over the past 40 years, the Bangkok [...] a growth of over 53 percent.” The same release carries a longer fragment of her remarks about growth, booth expansion and Thailand’s positioning: “Bangkok Gems has experienced remarkable growth in terms of exhibitor numbers, visitor attendance, and trade value. The fair is now recognized as one of the world’s four most important gems and jewelry trade fairs and is the largest global marketplace for colored gemstones. To accommodate strong demand from both Thai and international exhibitors, the organizers have expanded the exhibition area to include the Plenary Hall on Level 1, allowing the 73rd edition to host more than 200 additional booths. This further reinforces Thailand’s position as a global gems and jewelry trading hub. The event will feature more than 1,300 companies, over 2,800 booths from more than 20 countries, and is expected to attract over 45,000 visitors, generating trade”
Organizers’ promotional material describes the event as part sourcing hub, part manufacturing showcase: the YouTube press-conference description calls Bangkok Gems “the world's top four jewelry trade fairs, and Asia's largest gemstone sourcing destination” and highlights that “this fair has so many things both finished jewelry parts and also cut and uncut”, language that signals practical inventory for buyers building layered looks. Exhibitor emphasis on OEM and ODM services, also listed in press materials, points to immediate supply-chain access for designers and retailers looking to assemble stacked necklaces, mixed-metal rings, and multi-bracelet sets on short lead times.
Ceremony coverage contains a notable discrepancy: Bkkgems press material states the opening was “graciously presided over at the opening ceremony by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya,” and links a special exhibition to the Princess’s vision and Thailand’s master artisans. Nationthailand reported that Boonyarit Kalayanamit, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT), “presided over the opening ceremony. He emphasized the importance of strengthening standards, building trust, and enhancing Thailand’s international reputation in the gems and jewelry industry, as well as the institute’s role in driving the country toward becoming a global trading hub.” The fair’s program may have included multiple formal events; organizers and GIT releases list both royal-inspired showcases and institutional openings.

GIT used its exhibition booth to present research, services and laboratory capabilities on-site; PR News carried the headline “GIT Showcases Mission and Achievements at the 73rd Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.” GIT messaging at the show emphasizes strengthening standards, reinforcing its image as a leader in laboratory standards, expanding international cooperation, and contributing to sustainable growth in Thailand’s gems and jewelry industry.
For international buyers focused on colored gemstones and layering components, the ICA Pavilion lists participating exhibitors and contacts precisely: Arham Gems and Jewels at Booth VV 18 (India), Rahul Exports at Booths VV 20 and VV 22 (India), Shri Triveni Gems Co Ltd at Booths VV 25 and VV 27 (Japan as listed), Esmeralda Gems Inc at Booth VV 28 (United States of America), Isab & Co at Booth VV 29 (Sri Lanka), Komatsu Cutting Factory at Booth VV 31 (Japan), and Real Gems Inc at Booths VV 33 and VV 35 (United States of America). ICA contact points are supplied for on-site follow-up: New York office at 132 W 31st St Fl 9, New York, NY 10001, phone +1 (212) 620-0900; Hong Kong office at Unit 1777, 17/F, Silvercord Tower 2, 30 Canton Road, TST, Hong Kong SAR, phone +852 5520-6609; email ICA@gemstone.org.
Through 26 February at QSNCC the fair is a working marketplace where finished parts, cut and uncut stones, and OEM/ODM partners converge with claims of global ranking and a 150 million USD target; those claims sit alongside GIT’s stated push for laboratory standards and trust-building, which will matter to anyone layering pieces whose provenance and sustainability they intend to verify.
