Claudia Mae's Nouveau Romantic Bridal Collection Designed for Solo Wear or Stacking
Claudia Kronfeld's Nouveau Romantic splits into two distinct tracks: Stackable rings that nest with Nomad bands, and lower-profile Statement rings meant to anchor a solo hand.

There is a particular kind of engagement ring buyer that the bridal industry has historically underserved: the one who doesn't want to choose between a singular, commanding stone and the layered, textured ring stacks that have come to define contemporary fine jewelry wear. Claudia Kronfeld, the GIA-trained founder of Claudia Mae, built her Nouveau Romantic bridal collection around exactly that tension.
Kronfeld began her career in New York before founding the brand around its now-signature Nomad Ring, a design inspired by the Victorian-era "Gypsy" rings she collected growing up. The Nouveau Romantic collection extends that same design logic into bridal, but with a structural sophistication that most engagement ring lines don't attempt: two distinct categories of ring, each with its own intended mode of wear.
The Stackable tier is engineered to sit seamlessly alongside all Nomad bands, while the Statement tier runs lower profile and is meant to be worn alone on one hand, with a Nomad stack on the other. That division isn't cosmetic. It reflects a genuine design commitment: the shank geometry, stone height, and profile of each ring in the collection was determined by which hand it was meant to inhabit. A Statement ring worn next to a tall-prong Stackable would create the kind of uncomfortable gap and torque that daily wear makes obvious within a week. Kronfeld has done the engineering work so the wearer doesn't have to.
On the Statement side, a smooth, sculptural bezel is surrounded by scattered burnish-set diamonds that appear gently embedded into the gold, creating a subtle sparkle that catches the eye from specific angles. The burnish setting is a Claudia Mae signature: rather than the lifted, claw-like grip of a traditional prong, stones are pressed flush into the metal, which reads as texture rather than punctuation. It's a finish that photographs quietly and wears beautifully against adjacent bands.

The brand uses 100% recycled gold, carefully vetted natural gemstones, and conflict-free natural diamonds across its line, with many designs featuring a secure, flush burnish-setting technique. For the Nouveau Romantic collection specifically, all settings default to 14k solid yellow gold, with customization available in 14k or 18k white, yellow, and rose gold.
The brand's stated ethos is breaking with tradition and encouraging wearers to approach engagement rings and wedding bands any way they choose. In practice, that means stone shape options spanning rounds, ovals, pears, cushions, elongated old mine cuts, marquises, and Asschers, with prong, bezel, offset prong, and east-west orientations across both the Stackable and Statement families. The breadth is deliberate: stacking is only as personal as the options allow.
Claudia Mae's broader mission is celebrating life's meaningful milestones through stacking for bridal and beyond. With the Nouveau Romantic collection, Kronfeld makes that aspiration concrete, giving brides both the vocabulary and the architecture to build a hand that's entirely their own.
