Tanishq Opens First New England Store, Its 10th U.S. Location, in Westborough
Tanishq's first New England showroom opens in Westborough, targeting a region home to nearly 40,000 Indian households with 5,000 designs spanning heritage bridal gold to contemporary everyday pieces.

When Tanishq lit the ceremonial diya at its new Westborough showroom on March 6, it wasn't simply marking another retail opening. The 4,000-square-foot space at 303 Turnpike Road became the Indian jewelry brand's 10th U.S. location and its first foothold in New England, a region where nearly 40,000 Indian households across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut represent a market the brand had been building toward for years.
The showroom had already been serving customers since December 4, 2025, but the formal inauguration drew Raghuram S., the Consul General of India, alongside State Senator Michael Moore, Westborough County Representative Mark S., and Town Coordinator Laura Crawford. The program included ribbon-cutting, traditional diya lighting, and cultural performances, a ceremony that reflected the dual identity Tanishq has built its U.S. expansion around: rooted in Indian craftsmanship, reaching for a global clientele.
That tension between heritage and contemporary is visible across the showroom floor, where more than 5,000 designs span bridal collections, festive wear, and statement pieces alongside everyday essentials in gold, diamond, and gemstone settings. The everyday category is where the brand's more delicate, wearable offerings live, pieces that appeal to younger diaspora buyers who want a connection to Indian design without the ceremony of traditional bridal gold.
"Opening in Westborough marks an important milestone for Tanishq as we establish our presence in New England," said Amrit Pal Singh, head of business for North America at Titan Company Limited. "Our 10th location in the United States reflects the growing appreciation for Indian craftsmanship and we're excited to introduce Tanishq's heritage of gold artistry and contemporary design while continuing to expand across the U.S."

The Westborough opening is the latest move in a rapid push across the country that has placed stores in New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Santa Clara, Virginia, and Orlando. That geographic spread tracks the Indian diaspora itself: according to India's Ministry of External Affairs, the United States is home to 5.69 million people of Indian origin, more than half of whom are descendants of earlier immigrants.
Tanishq was founded by Xerxes Desai in 1994 as a brand of Titan Company Limited, part of the Tata Group, headquartered in Bengaluru. The company now operates more than 400 retail stores across India, North America, the Middle East, and the Far East. Westborough marks its first entry into the Boston metropolitan area, closing a strategic gap in its North American footprint.
For a company built on the weight and ceremony of bridal gold, the pivot toward lighter everyday designs points to something larger: heritage remains the foundation of Tanishq's identity, but wearability is becoming its growth driver in the American market.
