North West’s newest jewelry moment was built to flash on a phone screen: custom grills from Gabby Elan Jewelry, shown in TikTok videos posted April 14, covered both her top and bottom teeth and came in three sharply different colorways. The set featured 20 caps made of 14K white gold, but the visual story went beyond one precious-metal finish. Gabby Elan Jewelry also made versions for North in teal blue and candy apple red, a palette that feels less like ceremonial adornment than identity styling, the kind of piece made to register instantly in a social-first feed.

That is what makes the grills feel so current. Personalized jewelry is increasingly less about occasion wear and more about a wearable signature, a way to edit the face, not just decorate it. North’s latest set sits in that space with unusual clarity: custom, high-impact, and specific to her own visual language. The jeweler, an appointment-only business in New York City, lists its location as 580 5th Ave., Suite 627, in the Diamond District, a detail that places the work squarely in the city’s custom-jewelry ecosystem, where one-off commissions still carry the cachet of private craft.

North has already made grills part of her look, wearing an all-black set in January. Seen in that context, the new versions read less like a one-night stunt than a continuing style code. Her broader aesthetic has pushed in the same direction, with blue hair, scene and emo references, spiked and pierced nail sets, and bleached brows all functioning as elements of one highly curated image. On April 1, she and Kanye West performed “Piercing on My Hand,” folding jewelry and body modification into performance rather than treating them as separate categories.

The latest TikTok look sharpened that message even further. North wore wavy blue hair down to her hips with a skull T-shirt, an oversized graphic tee, a pleated miniskirt, spiked boots, stacked bracelets, a cap, and a Balenciaga Le Cagole bag. The effect was deliberately crowded, but not random: each piece reinforced the same idea of jewelry as self-authored styling. Kim Kardashian has said North’s blue hair makes her happy and that she would not take that creativity away, a position that helps explain why North’s accessories feel so closely tied to personality. In North West’s hands, the grill is no longer a novelty. It is part of the look, and the look is the point.
