Abell Auction's Two-Day Jewels and Fine Art Sale Set for March 2026
Cartier's "Alignment of the Planets" cuff, estimated at $200K, anchors Abell Auction's 334-lot Los Angeles sale opening today with Tiffany, Daumier, and Chagall.

Abell Auction Company opened the first session of "Significant Estates: Magnificent Jewels and Distinguished Art" this morning at 9 a.m. PDT at its gallery at 6620 Telegraph Road in Los Angeles, with the second and final day of jewelry offerings set for tomorrow, March 22. The 334-lot sale draws from distinguished Southern California private estates and spans fine vintage jewelry, modern art, fine silver, and important antiques.
The jewelry headlines belong to Cartier and Tiffany & Co. Leading the March 22 session is Cartier's "The Alignment of the Planets" cuff, an 18-karat white gold and Tahitian pearl bracelet estimated between $100,000 and $200,000. A pair of Cartier diamond stud earrings carries a $60,000 to $80,000 estimate. Both pieces represent the kind of signed fine jewelry that rarely surfaces from private collections intact.
The Tiffany offerings, drawn from a single Los Angeles collection, span several decades of the house's most celebrated designer collaborations. A Schlumberger 18-karat yellow gold, enamel and multi-stone parrot brooch, the sort of sculptural, hand-enameled work that defined Schlumberger's influence at Tiffany through the mid-twentieth century, is estimated at $20,000 to $30,000. Angela Cummings's 18-karat yellow gold bangle inlaid with lapis lazuli and mother-of-pearl carries an estimate of $8,000 to $12,000, as does a Paloma Picasso 18-karat yellow gold bangle. The collection's platinum and diamond "Victoria" tennis bracelet is estimated at $7,000 to $10,000.

Today's opening session, devoted to fine art, antiques, silver, and decorative arts, presents works ranging from European paintings to Asian decorative objects. Among the featured lots is Marc Chagall's "Les Saltimbanques" (Lot 45) alongside a Honoré Daumier bronze, "Ratapoil," estimated at $7,000 to $10,000. A museum-caliber painting, Larry Poon's "Playing Hammers," is positioned as the headline work across both days of the sale.
Bidders may participate through Abell's website at abell.com, as well as through LiveAuctioneers and Invaluable. Absentee and telephone bids are also accepted directly through Abell; the auctioneer line is 310.858.3073. Public preview ran from March 16 at the gallery on Telegraph Road.
