Beth Bernstein has long written about jewelry with a collector’s eye, and her newest project turned that instinct into a useful map of the trade. Jewelry Creators: Dynamic Duos and Generational Gems, written with Sonia Esther Soltani, focused on 22 influential designers, brands and gem dealers whose names often reveal as much as a hallmark when a piece crosses an auction block or estate tray.

ACC Art Books will publish the 176-page volume in spring 2026, with listings pointing to May 26 and June 2 as release dates. The book is divided into two sections, Dynamic Duos and Generational Gems, a structure that mirrors the way vintage jewelry is often decoded in practice: by looking at who worked with whom, which family carried a design language forward, and where a brand’s hands changed without losing its signature.

That approach gives the book its value for readers who study signed jewelry. ACC’s U.S. listing names Artëmer, Auroro Borgioni, Coomi, Jane Taylor, Lionheart, Lord Jewelry, Monica Rich Kosann, NeverNot, OX, Sethi Couture and Single Stone among the featured names. Bernstein’s authority comes from both scholarship and making jewelry herself. She is described as a jewelry historian, author, journalist and former jewelry designer, and her Bethany B line sold to more than 250 stores in the United States and overseas in the 1990s. Soltani brings a similar depth of industry knowledge. She is a jewelry journalist, content specialist and consultant; Barnes & Noble notes that she served as editor-in-chief of Rapaport for seven years and hosted the Jewelry Connoisseur podcast.

The book also extends Bernstein’s recent run of titles on jewelry history and identity, following The Modern Guide to Vintage Jewellery in 2025, Jewelry’s Shining Stars: The Next Generation in 2024 and The Modern Guide to Antique Jewelry in 2022. Taken together, those books have built a clear argument: the most revealing detail in a piece of jewelry is often not the stone, but the relationships behind it.
