Mobile pantry coming to Adams County Fairgrounds April 28
Food for All will return to the Adams County Fairgrounds on April 28, with food help available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for residents who bring ID and proof of address.

Food for All will bring a mobile pantry back to the Adams County Fairgrounds in West Union on Tuesday, April 28, giving residents a two-hour window, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., to pick up food at 836 Boyd Ave. Anyone seeking help will need a photo ID and a recent piece of mail showing a current address, and TEFAP eligibility rules apply, including income requirements at or above 200 percent of the federal poverty line.
The pantry is part of Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio’s monthly mobile effort, which travels to Adams, Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton and Highland counties. The agency says the Food for All program is built with help from local organizations, with food purchased and donated through Freestore Foodbank, a setup meant to bring basic grocery support into rural communities where affordable, nutrient-rich food can be hard to find.
April Hoak, Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio’s Food for All coordinator, is the contact for questions about the pantry. Catholic Charities also says volunteers from the community are needed to help distribute items, alongside support from local churches, Freestore Foodbank and other partners that help keep the monthly stops running.

The Adams County Fairgrounds stop has become a familiar spring date for West Union and nearby communities, with similar pantry distributions held there on April 23, 2024, April 22, 2025 and now April 28, 2026. For families trying to stretch grocery dollars, the fairgrounds site offers a central, easy-to-find location and a short, predictable window to get help without traveling far.
The need is not small. Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio says it served nearly 24,000 people in 2025, underscoring how many households across the region are turning to emergency food assistance. Ohio foodbank research has also identified Adams County as one of the rural counties with especially high child food insecurity, a reminder that the pressure is not limited to one age group or one neighborhood.

Catholic Charities says its pantry network is designed to answer that pressure with a practical, repeatable response: food, staffing and warehouse support coordinated through Freestore Foodbank and local partners. For Adams County residents, the April 28 stop is another chance to get food assistance close to home, with the paperwork and timing spelled out before anyone gets in line.
