Alamance County Commissioners Hold Feb. 16 Meeting, Post Agenda and Livestream
The board posted the Feb. 16 agenda on its eScribe portal and livestreamed the 6:30 p.m. business meeting; a revised meeting policy limiting commissioners' remarks passed 4-0.

Alamance County Board of Commissioners convened a regularly scheduled business meeting on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., and the county published the agenda and supporting materials on its eScribe meeting portal while making the full meeting available as a public livestream that is archived on the county’s meetings playlist. The meeting appears on the county’s YouTube listings as “All 2026 meetings of the Alamance County Board of Commissioners · February 16, 2026 Commissioners Meeting · February 16, 2026 Commissioners Meeting Live Stream.”
At the Feb. 16 meeting the board adopted a revised meeting policy by a recorded margin of 4-to-0. Alamancenews reporter Tomas Murawski summarized the policy and the procedural changes: “The rules that the commissioners ultimately adopted retained a staff level suggestion to label their first meeting of the month as a ‘work session,’ while retaining the public comment period that currently kicks off all of the board’s regularly-scheduled gatherings. The new policy also shifts the board’s responses to public comments so they occur immediately after the commissioners hear from their constituents. It nevertheless limits each board member to 3 minutes for his or her response to these comments - and gives each commissioner a maximum of 5 minutes to share any other remarks they may have at the end of each meeting.”
County Manager Heidi York first pitched the staff-generated recommendations in December and, after more than two months of deliberation, “agreed to tweak the staff’s recommendations to suit the board’s wishes, and she returned with this revised draft when the commissioners convened their latest regularly-scheduled gathering on Monday,” Murawski reported. The paper added that the commissioners “passed these new protocols by a margin of 4-to-0 on Monday after more than two months of hemming and hawing over a staff-generated proposal that made its debut in December.”
Chairman Kelly Allen framed the change as a benefit to residents, telling the board that, with the restoration of two public comment periods a month, the staff’s revised rules were a “vast improvement” and that the distinction between “work sessions” and regular “business meetings” would be invaluable to residents who have sat through lengthy staff presentations and board deliberations to hear items pertinent to themselves, Murawski reported.
