Burlington police arrested a 61-year-old man at his Diana Circle residence Thursday after executing a search warrant that resulted in two counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor.

John Thomas Miller was taken into custody March 20 following the search, which the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted. His bond and detention status were not immediately available from police.

The arrest is the latest in a series of Burlington-area child exploitation cases investigated in early 2026, several involving the same state and regional law enforcement partners. On Feb. 25, Burlington police executed a search warrant at a home in the 2000 block of Sweetbay Circle and arrested Herbert Lee Williams, 62, on 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and Robert Craig Blackwood Jr., 61, on one count of the same charge. Both men are being held at the Alamance County Detention Facility without bond. Burlington police credited the NC SBI and the Invictus Task Force with assisting in that case, and said the investigation remains ongoing.

On Feb. 6, the Invictus Task Force executed a separate search warrant leading to the arrest of Daniel Keith McClain on two counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. A magistrate issued no bond, and McClain's first appearance in Alamance County District Court was set for Feb. 9.

Roberto Allen Jimenez, 23, was arrested on a Wednesday in a separate case after police searched his residence at 2610 Eldermont St. on suspicion of possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material. He faces one count of second-degree exploitation of a minor and is held at the Alamance County Detention Facility under no bond.

The Invictus Task Force, NC SBI, Alamance County Sheriff's Office, and Burlington Police Department have each been credited across these cases. The Burlington Police Department's investigation line is (336) 229-3500. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Alamance County-Wide Crimestoppers at (336) 229-7100 or through the P3 Tips mobile app.
