Three Burlington men face felony kidnapping and armed robbery charges after a traffic stop cracked open an investigation into a masked home invasion on the 1500 block of Edith Street that left one person stabbed and sent to the hospital.
Burlington Police Department investigators arrested Maurice Lamont Shavers, 26, Shaundale William Young, 25, and Davon Jaheem Ingram, 23, in connection with the March 26 incident. The charges were publicly disclosed March 31. All three are now booked at the Alamance County Detention Center, with Shavers and Young held without bond and Ingram held on a $100,000 secured bond.
According to Burlington Police, three masked men forced their way into a residence on Edith Street, held two occupants at gunpoint, stole items from inside the home, and fled the scene in a white van. One of the two victims was stabbed during the robbery and transported to a hospital for treatment.
The white van proved decisive. BPD, working alongside the Alamance County Sheriff's Office, located the vehicle during a traffic stop and arrested all three men at that stop, connecting them to the Edith Street crime scene.

All three defendants face identical core counts: robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree kidnapping. Shavers carries four additional charges, including assault inflicting serious injury, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana. The first-degree kidnapping count and the dangerous weapon enhancement significantly elevate sentencing exposure under North Carolina law if the men are convicted.
The cases now move to the Alamance County district attorney's office for review ahead of arraignment and any pretrial proceedings. Burlington Police are asking anyone with information about the March 26 incident to contact investigators directly.
