Voters in Alamance County will narrow the field for the Board of Commissioners in the March 3 primary, with a total of eight candidates vying for four spots on the November ballot." The contest will determine party nominees who will compete in the November general election for two commission seats; two candidates from each party will advance to the November general election.

The Alamance County Board of Elections candidate detail list (printed Jan. 12, 2026) shows five Republicans and three Democrats filed in December 2025. Republican filings include Kelly Frazier Allen (filed 12/02/2025; PO BOX 1 731 Keck Rd, Haw River; phone (336) 380-9611; email KF_ALLEN@YAHOO.COM), Steven Jeffery Carter (filed 12/04/2025; 3312 Doral Ct, Burlington), William Henry Vines Jr. (listed as William H. Vines Jr., filed 12/17/2025; 3450 Isley Dr, Snow Camp; phone (336) 227-1761; email HENRYVINES@BELLSOUTH.NET), Peter Robert Boykin (filed 12/18/2025; 2060 Stone St Ext 2, Mebane; phone (919) 758-0597; email PETERBOYKIN@GMAIL.COM) and Jeffrey L. Throneburg (filed 12/04/2025; listed phone (336) 675-5520 and a truncated campaign email ELECTJEFFTHRONEBURG@GMA[...]).

Democratic filings in the BOE list show Sean Charles Ewing (filed 12/01/2025; 304 Stratford Dr, Mebane; phone (614) 378-8464; email EWINGFORNC@GMAIL.COM), Wilbernetta Ramona Allen (filed 12/01/2025; 2711 Whiteoak Dr, Burlington; campaign email listed as RAMNBC.OUTREACH@.AOL.COM) and Warren Lash Parks Jr. (filed 12/08/2025; 1724 Blackwell Rd, Burlington; email TEMPSBOO@COMCAST.NET).

Tax policy has become central as the county prepares for a property revaluation. In a survey, contractor Jeff Throneburg was the only candidate who said the county should increase tax revenue. He said Alamance needs additional funding to support emergency services and public schools. Kelly Frazier Allen has been described as "more non-committal, saying her stance will depend on the results of the property revaluation." Incumbent vice chairman Steven Jeffery Carter, farmer Henry Vines and Peter Boykin told surveyors the tax rate should be "revenue neutral," meaning it would offset rising property values. Sean Ewing has said he shares their revenue neutral stance; Ramona Allen and Warren L. Parks Jr. have not offered a response on the question.

Campaign profiles and records loom alongside policy positions. Peter Boykin is identified in reporting as a conservative activist with a large social media following; "Boykin has drawn attention for promoting conspiracy theories, including one about the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas." Ramona Allen, a Burlington pastor, has made public education and homelessness central to her campaign and has said of a 2004 arrest for assault and battery that "the case was resolved via a deferral agreement and didn't result in any convictions." Court-file reporting names a May 29, 2003 foreclosure action in Alamance that listed Throneburg and Rhonda L. Villasenor as defendants; that complaint was voluntarily dismissed about a month later, and the state system also shows a 1994 divorce record for Throneburg.

The BOE file timestamped Jan. 12, 2026, Page 2, 11:26 a.m. remains the county's public candidate roster; the primary on March 3 will winnow that list so four nominees move onto the November ballot to contest two commission seats. Voters in precincts across Burlington, Haw River, Mebane and Snow Camp will decide which candidates advance.
