19 Wyoming Cowboys Showcase NFL Draft Skills for 20 Pro Day Scouts
Running back Sam Scott posted a 40-inch vertical and shed 12 pounds to stand out as 20 NFL teams evaluated 19 Cowboys in Laramie.

Twenty NFL teams descended on Laramie's High Altitude Performance Center and Indoor Practice Facility on Wednesday to watch 19 draft-eligible Cowboys put their skills on display at the University of Wyoming's annual Pro Day.
Running back Sam Scott emerged as one of the day's standouts, arriving 12 pounds lighter than his 2025 playing weight of 227. The senior from Omaha, Nebraska posted a 40-inch vertical and ran an unofficial 4.5-second 40-yard dash. Last fall, Scott rushed for 408 yards and scored two touchdowns on the ground, adding 113 receiving yards on 11 catches with one receiving score.
"He had a very good day," Sawvel said. "And I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that he made that concerted effort to really lean out."
Scott was direct about his intentions going into the workout. "It felt awesome," he said. "I just wanted to show my explosiveness."

Not all final measurements were immediately available following the event, but Scott was far from alone on the field. Tight end John Michael Gyllenborg, who previously participated in the NFL Combine, anchored a group that included offensive linemen Caden Barnett and Jack Walsh, tight ends Justin Erb and Evan Svoboda, safeties Jevon Davis and Isaac Sell, linebackers Evan Eller and Brayden Johnson, defensive tackles Ben Florentine and Aneesh Vyas, defensive ends Chisom Ifeanyi and Tyce Westland, cornerback Dainsus Miller, wide receivers Clay Nanke and Jaylen Sargent, running back Max White, and long snapper Carson York. Quarterbacks Mason Drube and Gage Brook were also on hand to throw to pass catchers during the session.
Several of the participants arrived with significant all-star game experience. Barnett, Svoboda, and Walsh all competed in the Hula Bowl, while Barnett also appeared in the East-West Shrine Bowl in Texas.
With Pro Day now behind them, the current Wyoming roster turns its attention to spring ball, which gets underway later this month. For those pursuing professional opportunities, the next major milestone is the NFL Draft, scheduled for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
