Laramie Man With Prior Convictions Faces Felony Charge for Exposing Himself to Teen
A Laramie man with at least three prior convictions for lewd conduct was bound over to district court on a felony charge after allegedly exposing himself to a 14-year-old girl.

Jacob Daniel Cox, a Laramie resident born in 1980 with at least three prior convictions for lewd and indecent conduct, was bound over to Albany County District Court on a single felony count of sexual exploitation of children.
The charge stemmed from allegations that Cox repeatedly exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl inside a home during late 2025. According to a probable-cause affidavit, the girl's mother was approximately ten feet away inside the house during at least one of the alleged incidents.
The affidavit described two specific encounters. On Jan. 18, the teen reported that Cox intentionally walked into a bathroom while she wore only a towel, then exposed himself in a hallway just outside the door. Cox denied the exposure was intentional and had previously been ticketed for voyeurism related to earlier conduct.
A second incident allegedly occurred when the teen walked in on Cox pleasuring himself. Rather than stopping, Cox called after her as she left, saying "Come back in here" and "Wait a second," according to the affidavit.
Investigators also cited a text message Cox allegedly sent that sexually referenced his genitals. When questioned, Cox characterized the message as an accident. After earlier incidents, the girl's mother confronted Cox directly; Cox admitted he had been "horny" and told the mother he would turn himself in, according to the affidavit.
Because Cox worked as a long-haul trucker and was out of state for extended periods following the incidents, law enforcement did not take him into custody until mid-March 2026.
Cox's prior record of at least three convictions for lewd behavior informed prosecutors' decision to pursue a felony charge rather than a misdemeanor. A conviction for sexual exploitation of children in Wyoming carries significant prison exposure.
The case will proceed through Albany County District Court, with bond conditions and subsequent hearing dates reflected in court filings. Cox is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
