Laramie Middle School Choir Celebrates America's 250th Anniversary in Concert
Laramie Middle School's choir joined Laramie High School singers for a concert of American heritage music, marking the nation's 250th anniversary.

Voices filled a Laramie stage Tuesday as the Laramie Middle School Choir joined forces with the Laramie High School choir for a combined concert of American heritage music, marking the United States' 250th anniversary year.
Albany County School District shared the performance, which drew on songs tied to the nation's history and civic identity. The concert arrived as communities across the country stage similar tributes ahead of July 4, 2026, when the country marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The LHS Music Department noted that special guests also took part in the performance, adding to the scope of a program that brought together students from both of Laramie's public secondary schools.
The America 250 milestone has prompted school music programs nationwide to center their spring programming on patriotic and historical repertoire. For Laramie's student singers, the concert represented both a civic observance and a showcase of the choral work developed through Albany County School District's music curriculum.
Laramie Middle School's choir program is one of several co-curricular offerings at LMS that school administrators have pointed to as central to student development at the middle school level, alongside band, orchestra, and student government.
The performance comes during a spring concert season that gives student musicians their most prominent public platform of the school year, with audiences typically made up of families, teachers, and community members from across Albany County.
