Chinle kept its home field rolling with another decisive win, beating Ganado 12-4 and stretching its home winning streak to five games. The Wildcats improved to 17-6 and continued to look like one of Apache County’s most complete baseball teams as the 3A North Tournament approached.

Hage Tsosie powered the offense with a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate, driving in three runs, scoring twice and lining two doubles. It was Tsosie’s most hits in a game since April 2025, and it came in a performance that never allowed Ganado to settle in. Daven Dale added another heavy dose of pressure, reaching base in three of four plate appearances, scoring three runs and hitting a triple as Chinle kept traffic on the bases throughout the night.

The Wildcats’ recent run has not been limited to one scoreline or one opponent. Chinle had already beaten Ganado 10-0 in the teams’ March 25 meeting, then followed with shutout wins over Window Rock, 10-0 on April 8, and Tuba City, 11-0 on April 13. The steady string of lopsided results has been backed by pitching that held opponents to an average of just 1.8 runs during the five-game home streak. Chinle has also won 14 games by seven runs or more this season, a sign that its margin has often been as convincing as its record.

Ganado’s loss dropped the Hornets to 4-13-1 and extended their losing streak to 10 games. The defeat deepened a difficult stretch for a program trying to regain footing before the postseason, especially with district and tournament positioning about to tighten.

The schedule now turns quickly. Chinle was set to host Show Low at 2:30 p.m. Friday, while Ganado was scheduled to host Window Rock at noon Monday. Both games carry added weight with the Arizona Interscholastic Association’s 3A North Tournament set for April 23-25 and Chinle, Ganado, Window Rock, Tuba City, Monument Valley and Page all listed among the participants. For Chinle, the latest win reinforced what home-field confidence can mean in late April: not just another result, but a clearer path into the tournament.
