Autopsy Completed After Unidentified Woman Found in Mulberry Creek
An autopsy was completed March 19 after Norfolk Southern workers found an unidentified woman's body in Mulberry Creek near the Autauga-Dallas county line two days earlier.
Norfolk Southern Railroad workers discovered the body of an unidentified woman in Mulberry Creek at around 3:15 p.m. on March 17, near the Autauga-Dallas county line, and the Autauga County Sheriff's Office confirmed March 19 that an autopsy has been completed.
Sheriff Mark Harrell said the race of the female and the cause of death are not known. The case is being treated as a death investigation pending autopsy results and identification of the woman.
The location of the discovery complicates the investigation. Mulberry Creek runs through Autauga, Dallas, and Chilton counties, and Harrell said the body could have traveled from somewhere in Dallas, Autauga, or even Chilton counties before it was found. Investigators have not determined where the woman entered the water.

Deputies responded to the scene after the railroad workers made the discovery and confirmed the body was that of an unidentified female. No age or physical description has been released, and no positive identification has been made as of the autopsy confirmation.
The Autauga County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about the woman's identity to contact Investigator Watts at 334-361-2500.
