Baumhower's Victory Grille Brings Classic Alabama Dining to Millbrook
Baumhower's Victory Grille is building its largest location ever, an 8,800-square-foot restaurant, at Millbrook's 17 Springs complex, set to open this summer.

Construction is underway at The Marketplace at 17 Springs, where Baumhower's Victory Grille will open its eleventh Alabama location and, by a significant margin, its largest building in the chain's 45-year history.
The Millbrook restaurant spans 8,800 square feet, a purpose-built prototype that surpasses every existing Baumhower's in the state. Stuart Peters, president of Landmark Engineering and Construction, confirmed the scope of the project: "This is a new, 8,800 square foot prototype designed from the ground up, and it'll be the largest Baumhower's in existence to date. We are anticipating a summer of 2026 completion."
The 17 Springs complex sits just off Interstate 65 and spans 110 acres. Jointly owned by the City of Millbrook, the Elmore County Commission, the Greater Montgomery YMCA, the Elmore County Board of Education and the Elmore County Economic Development Authority, it already draws visitors with 12 pickleball courts, 12 tennis courts, five multi-purpose turf fields, a stadium with a competition track, six turf diamond fields and The Fieldhouse, an 86,000-square-foot indoor venue. Baumhower's will serve as the flagship dining anchor of The Marketplace, the complex's commercial hub.
Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley welcomed the news. "I am beyond excited to welcome Baumhower's Victory Grille as the flagship restaurant to The Marketplace at 17 Springs and can't wait until they open their doors for business," he said. "It is a pleasure to work with Bob Baumhower, his son Spencer, and the other members of the Aloha Hospitality team."
The restaurant traces its roots to 1981, when Bob Baumhower, a University of Alabama All-American and Miami Dolphins All-Pro, opened the first location and introduced Buffalo-style chicken wings to Alabama. Spencer Baumhower, the company's president, said the Millbrook expansion reflects the brand's continued investment in the River Region. "We are very excited to bring Baumhower's to Millbrook at 17 Springs," Spencer said. "Working with the owners and the Mayor has been a true pleasure, and we can't wait to get to work to bring legendary fun and legendary food to Millbrook and surrounding counties."
The new location will feature more than 70 large-screen TVs and a cutting-edge audio system. The menu will include scratch-made staples such as Spencer's Gooey Fries and Da Boss Burger alongside the award-winning wings that earned the chain a best-in-Alabama nod in 2023. Millbrook City Council unanimously approved the site development plan in October 2025.
With Autauga County residents among the intended audience, the summer opening places a well-known Alabama institution within easy reach of the greater Prattville area for the first time.
