Arkansas State’s offer to Prattville sophomore Maurice White Jr. puts an Autauga County lineman on an early recruiting track that can lift the profile of Prattville High School football and the pipeline coming out of 1315 Upper Kingston Road.

White, a Class of 2028 offensive lineman who wears No. 73 for the Lions, received the scholarship offer from the Red Wolves as the program’s official account congratulated him on the milestone. For a player still listed as a sophomore, the attention came early and from a program that has spent recent seasons building momentum under head coach Butch Jones in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

White’s player listings show why Arkansas State’s staff may have moved now. MaxPreps identifies him as Maurice White Jr., a Prattville varsity tackle and sophomore in the 2028 class. Prep Redzone lists him as a 6-foot-3 offensive line prospect, and Hudl also places him with Prattville High School boys varsity football as a Class of 2028 tackle in Prattville, Alabama.

The offer also fits Arkansas State’s roster needs. The Red Wolves’ 2026 coaching staff lists Nick Grimes as offensive line and run game coordinator, a sign that the front five remains a priority for Jones’ program. Jones is in his fifth season at Arkansas State and has guided the team to three straight bowl games, including the 2024 68 Ventures Bowl title.

For Prattville, White’s offer adds another line to a program that already leans on its history as one of Alabama’s established powers. Prattville football says the Lions have won five state championships, finished four seasons undefeated and made 27 playoff appearances. The program also says 35 Lions signed to play college football from the 2018-19 season through the 2021-22 seasons, a record that reinforces how often college scouts have looked to Autauga County for talent.

That backdrop matters for Prattville families and fans because each new offer strengthens the case that the next wave of college prospects may again come through the Lions’ offensive and defensive fronts. White’s Arkansas State offer is one more sign that the recruiting spotlight is already finding Prattville’s 2028 class, and that attention can travel quickly once a major program decides a local lineman fits its future.
