A wallet stolen in Montgomery on Jan. 19 became the starting point for a Prattville Police Department identity theft investigation after the suspect used one of the victim's credit cards to make a $499.99 purchase at the Target store in Prattville, authorities said. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information pertaining to this case is asked to contact the Prattville Police Department at 334-595-0208 or CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867).

That case is one of at least three separate identity theft investigations in Prattville for which the department and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers are now seeking the public's help. The Prattville Police Department is also asking for the community's assistance in identifying two male suspects involved in an identity theft incident at Lowe's in Prattville on July 23, 2025. Anonymous tips that lead to the identity and arrest of those suspects will result in a cash reward. Authorities have not released additional details about the Lowe's incident.

A third case dates to February 5, 2025. An unidentified male suspect allegedly attempted to make a withdrawal using another person's information at a business on the 2100 block of Cobbs Ford Road. The fraudulent transaction was declined, and the suspect left the scene in an unknown direction. Police urge anyone with information about that suspect to contact Investigator D. Hardy at 334-301-3370.

The three investigations involve distinct suspects, locations, and dates, and no source has linked them as part of a single case. The Target suspect has been described only as a woman. The Lowe's incident involved two men. The Cobbs Ford Road suspect is described as an unknown male. Surveillance images were released in connection with at least one of the cases, though none have been publicly distributed through media channels at this time.
