Sorbenots launches cold-brewed instant coffee in Baker City

Sorbenots turned a Baker City staple into something that can travel last week, rolling out a cold-brewed, freeze-dried instant coffee that it says works hot, iced or blended. The launch gives the Campbell Street coffee shop a new product line with a clear local identity and a price point that puts Baker City coffee in customers’ hands beyond the drive-thru line.

Sorbenots Coffee describes itself as a drive-thru coffee shop chain and family business started by Philip, Andrea and Jason Stone. What began as a trailer offering eight drinks has grown into five drive-thru coffee shops, and the Baker City location sits at 1270 Campbell St., where the shop page lists hours every day from 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The company’s online ordering pages show the new product sold from Baker City as an 8-pack of individual instant freeze-dried cold brew for $14.44. Another ordering listing shows a cold-brewed coffee hot option at $2.67 and up. That mix of packaging and pricing places the new coffee somewhere between a café drink and a shelf-stable retail item, giving Sorbenots a way to sell its name in a form that can move farther than a cup handed across a counter.

Sorbenots also used the Baker City Cycling Classic as a launch point. The company’s Facebook page said it rolled out the instant freeze-dried cold brewed coffee at the event the previous week, signaling a local debut tied to one of Baker City’s better-known community gatherings. The same page said the packs are designed to work hot, iced or blended, which widens the product’s use beyond a single brewing method.

The product is already showing up in more than one place. An Instagram post said it is now available at sorbenots.com/shop, and another said Sorbenots coffee is on the shelves at Old Souls Farm & Market, with the phrase “Baker City roasted” visible in the snippet. That local-roast labeling matters in a town where small businesses often depend on recognizable names and repeat customers, but also on products that can carry Baker City branding into new markets.
