Baltimore police investigate Montebello double shooting that injured two people

Baltimore police are investigating a double shooting in Montebello after two people arrived at hospitals with gunshot wounds Monday evening. Officers were first sent to an area hospital around 7:05 p.m. on June 22 after a walk-in shooting victim sought treatment, and detectives are still piecing together where the violence started and how the two injuries connect.

Police said they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the hand. A separate local report said a woman also walked into a hospital with multiple gunshot injuries, and that both victims were in stable condition. That same report placed the shooting on the 2000 block of East 32nd Street, near Lake Montebello, in Northeast Baltimore.

The Baltimore Police Department identified the case as a Northeast District shooting investigation in a public advisory issued June 22, 2026. One report said investigators were also considering whether one victim’s injury may have been self-inflicted, though that detail has not been spelled out in the department’s own public note. The difference in the accounts underscores how much of the incident still has to be reconstructed from hospital arrivals, witness statements and scene evidence.
