Dirt bike rider killed in collision with SUV on Liberty Heights Avenue

A 37-year-old dirt bike rider died Tuesday night after a collision with an SUV in the 3000 block of Liberty Heights Avenue near Druid Park Drive, adding another fatal crash to a corridor Baltimore has already identified as dangerous.

Police said the SUV driver stayed at the scene after the crash, which was reported around 8:49 p.m. Baltimore police Crash Team investigators took over the case and will now sort through how the vehicles came together, including whether speed, visibility, road conditions or right-of-way played a role. The fatal crash lands in the middle of a broader fight over street safety and neighborhood disorder.
