Nine Evacuated, Three Hospitalized After Northeast Baltimore Daycare Fire
Smoke billowed from the back of a Harford Road daycare Tuesday, sending nine people fleeing and three to the hospital for evaluation.
A fire at a daycare facility on the 7400 block of Harford Road in Northeast Baltimore forced nine people from the building Tuesday afternoon and sent three to a hospital for evaluation, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived at 12:35 p.m. and found smoke coming from the back of the building. The source notes the facility sits in the Parkville area near the Baltimore City limit, along a stretch of Harford Road that runs through one of the city's denser residential corridors.
Three people were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation following the evacuation. Their conditions remained unknown as of Tuesday. No firefighters were reported injured, a department spokesperson said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not identified the daycare by name, disclosed the ages or roles of those evacuated, or indicated whether the facility sustained structural damage significant enough to require closure.
Key questions remain unanswered: how many of the nine evacuated were children versus staff, which hospital received the three transported patients, and how long the scene remained active. The Baltimore City Fire Department has not announced a timeline for releasing a cause determination.
