Beltrami County Sheriff Assists at Fatal Highway 89 Rollover Crash

Floris Ruby Rose Strong, 35, of Red Lake was killed Sunday after her 2012 Dodge Caravan crossed Highway 89 and rolled into trees at the intersection of Great Divide Road NW near Thief River Falls, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The crash occurred at 12:06 p.m. in Pennington County, and the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office responded to assist at the scene.

Strong was traveling westbound on Great Divide Road NW when her vehicle crossed Highway 89 and rolled into the trees. Road conditions were dry at the time. Strong was not wearing a seat belt, according to the State Patrol's incident report.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. Whether alcohol was a factor remains pending investigation, according to the State Patrol report.

Thief River Falls sits in Pennington County, roughly 50 miles northeast of Grand Forks. The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, based in Bemidji, is among the agencies that routinely assist at crash scenes outside county lines when called upon by the State Patrol.
