Bemidji Entrepreneur Opens Shed Boutique, Permanent Jewelry Studio
On November 29, 2025 Megan Klein opened the Shed on Sullivan, a small retail and appointment space on her property about nine miles northwest of downtown Bemidji. The move turns a pop up permanent jewelry business into a year round destination, expanding local retail choices and offering a low cost model for area entrepreneurs.

Megan Klein welcomed shoppers on November 29, 2025 to the Shed on Sullivan, a compact shop she built on her lot at the corner of Eckles Road and Sullivan Drive NW. The space doubles as the permanent location for B.Linked Permanent Jewelry, a business Klein has operated as a pop up for nearly three years, and offers gift items from baby clothing to candles and soaps. The location sits roughly nine miles northwest of downtown Bemidji and represents a practical response to the difficulty of finding conventional retail space in town.
Klein, who moved to the area from the Twin Cities a decade ago after her parents bought Highland Resort and Seasonal Park on Cass Lake, has a history in Bemidji retail. In 2018 she and her mother opened Ann Jean Apparel and Home at 208 Third St. NW in downtown Bemidji. That boutique closed after five years, and Klein launched B.Linked Permanent Jewelry in its place. Turning the pop up into a permanent site allows her to host appointments and private events locally while maintaining a modest overhead footprint. “I needed somewhere to do appointments and private parties,” she said. “If I have a shed, people can just come to the house. And then why not just make it a place where everyone can shop?”
Permanent jewelry is a niche product that has grown in recent years. The pieces are designed to stay on for long periods without frequent removal, they do not use clasp links, and their ends are usually connected using welding technology so the piece is non adjustable. Klein described product options and materials this season. “You can do a bracelet, anklet, necklace or a ring,” she said. “It's 14 karat gold filled, sterling silver or rose gold filled. And then you can choose like charms to go on them. And then it's just always on them. So they loved ones are always with them.” That personal meaning has helped the concept take off locally.

The Shed on Sullivan lists weekly hours and inventory updates on social media, and joins several new small business projects launched around Bemidji this season. For local shoppers the shed expands options outside downtown and offers appointment based shopping that can fit into busy schedules. For entrepreneurs the model highlights a low capital path to brick and mortar presence, converting pop ups into permanent community fixtures.
