Gary Rack’s Farmhouse Kitchen opens in Coral Springs

Gary Rack’s Farmhouse Kitchen opened Monday at 3314 N. University Drive, adding a chef-driven restaurant to the Modera Coral Springs development in the Cornerstone Plaza area. The Coral Springs location is the brand’s third outpost and its largest to date, spanning about 3,600 square feet.

The restaurant is built for more than a quick dinner. Rack has positioned it as a casual spot for lunch, dinner, drinks and weekend socializing, with indoor-outdoor seating and an open expo kitchen designed to keep the room active and visible. The menu includes steak and fries, hamburgers, BBQ ribs and salmon entrees, a lineup that suggests the concept is aiming to capture families, couples and small groups looking for a step above standard strip-mall dining.

That positioning matters in Coral Springs, where new restaurants often compete not just on food, but on whether they can become part of a weekly routine. Farmhouse Kitchen is leaning into that by combining brunch, happy hour and entertainment programming in the same space. Resy describes the location as serving “just-good food” that supports local purveyors, with Executive Chef Demetrio Zavala guiding a fresh-focused, clean-eating menu. The Coral Springs outpost also offers weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and a daily happy hour with half-price select food and drinks.

The restaurant’s social side is just as deliberate. It plans to feature a DJ on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a detail that gives the dining room a more energetic feel than a typical suburban lunch-and-dinner spot. The business is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The project had originally been targeted for a late-2025 opening before arriving in mid-June. Its location inside Modera Coral Springs also ties it to a larger residential-and-retail buildout, with apartments above the retail space helping drive foot traffic in a corridor that continues to evolve. A mural by Miami artist Ruben Ubiera adds a visual signature inside the restaurant, and the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce listed the phone number as 561-816-2090 for reservations.
