Southwest Ranches treatment center files Chapter 11 with $2.7 million debt

A Southwest Ranches behavioral-health provider behind Reign Residential Treatment Centers and Sanctuary Mental Health & Wellness sought Chapter 11 protection after listing $2.7 million in debt. The voluntary petition puts Atlantic Recovery Center, LLC, at 14320 Mustang Trail, Suite 308, in Broward County, in case 26-18871 before Judge Scott M. Grossman in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. Because the filing is under Chapter 11 Subchapter V, the company can usually keep operating while it reorganizes under court supervision.

For patients already in treatment, that means the filing does not automatically force a shutdown. Federal bankruptcy rules require a health care ombudsman within 30 days of a health care case petition, which puts that appointment around Aug. 6 in this case, and proofs of claim are due Sept. 15. Those are the first hard dates for families, staff and referral partners trying to judge whether residential care, medication management, housing arrangements or insurance-covered services will stay steady as the case moves forward.

Broward County has a backstop if services are disrupted. County records direct adults seeking drug or alcohol treatment to Broward Addiction Recovery Center at 954-357-4880, and the county’s 211 line, 954-537-0211, is open any time of day or night for people dealing with substance abuse, emotional crisis, health service needs, food or shelter problems. Florida’s 988 Lifeline is also available 24/7, and Broward County’s Crisis Intervention and Support Division says it is designed to help ensure a continuum of crisis and intervention services for youth, adults and families.

Atlantic Recovery Center, LLC has been in Florida’s corporate records since July 21, 2014, with the same Mustang Trail address in Southwest Ranches. That long footprint makes the bankruptcy more consequential in Broward, where another behavioral-health provider is now under court protection while patients, families and referral networks wait to see whether care at the site holds steady.
