Weston garage fire, likely sparked by car, leaves no injuries

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews kept a Weston house fire from spreading beyond a three-car garage Friday afternoon after a parked vehicle inside the garage appears to have sparked the blaze. No injuries were reported in the gated community, and at least two people got out safely.

Resident Amy Eisenberg said she and her husband were home when they heard a loud “Bang!” and then the smoke detectors went off, giving them time to escape. The alarm response mattered: crews said the flames were contained to the garage area, limiting damage to the rest of the home.

Firefighters focused their response on the garage, where the fire began among vehicles parked inside the house. The incident drew a heavy emergency presence in Weston, with smoke visible in the area as crews worked to knock down the flames and check for spread into the living space.
