Julian Reshawn Suber, 35, will serve at least 52 months in prison after pleading guilty in Henderson County Superior Court to shooting outside the McDonald’s at 1909 Four Seasons Boulevard in Hendersonville.

Judge Craig Croom imposed consecutive prison terms of 26 to 44 months on each count, one for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one for discharging a weapon into occupied property. The combined active sentence ranges from 52 months to 88 months, meaning Suber must spend at least 4 years and 4 months behind bars.

The plea brought a close to a case that began with an argument in the McDonald’s drive-thru lane on the morning of Nov. 3, 2025. Surveillance video described in court records showed Suber and the victim getting out of their vehicles before the shooting. Investigators said Suber then returned to his car, grabbed a firearm and fired multiple shots as the victim drove away.

Officers collected 13 .40-caliber shell casings at the scene. The victim’s vehicle had nine bullet holes, but the victim was not struck. One bullet crossed Four Seasons Boulevard and went through a window at the Kentucky Fried Chicken across the street. The restaurant was occupied at the time, but no one was hit.

Police said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident and that there was no ongoing threat to the public. Hendersonville police used license-plate-reader technology to identify Suber’s vehicle, and sheriff’s deputies arrested him about an hour later in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

District Attorney R. Andrew Murray announced the plea and sentence and credited the Hendersonville Police Department and Henderson County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation. Assistant District Attorney Doug Mundy handled the prosecution.

The case moved from a roadside argument to a prison sentence through a relatively direct path: surveillance, shell casings, vehicle damage and license-plate data gave investigators a detailed account of what happened, and prosecutors secured guilty pleas rather than taking the case to trial. For Henderson County residents, the outcome delivers accountability, but it also shows how quickly a dispute in a crowded commercial corridor can turn into a shooting that endangers drivers, workers and bystanders on both sides of Four Seasons Boulevard.
