Hi-Wire Brewing in Biltmore Village and Charlotte’s NoDa Brewing are collaborating on Odyssey IPA, a limited-edition hazy IPA that debuts Friday, March 27 and donates a portion of proceeds from draft and canned sales to the Asheville Regional Coalition for Home Repair (ARCHR). The beer will be sold in four-packs of 16-ounce cans and on draft at Hi-Wire and NoDa taprooms, with additional availability at retailers across Hi-Wire’s eight-state distribution network while supplies last.

Odyssey IPA is a juicy-style hazy IPA clocking 6.5 percent ABV and built on a hop bill of Dolcita, Citra, and Mosaic. The recipe incorporates advanced hop products Lupocore and Prysma supplied by John I. Haas, and packaging and ingredient support came from Country Malt Group and Hart Print. An Untappd listing shows 10 IBU and an American IPA classification at the time of capture.

The collaboration is framed as a full-circle moment for Asheville’s brewing community after Hurricane Helene in September 2024. Hi-Wire’s River Arts District facility was inundated during the storm, costing the brewery approximately 1.3 million unfilled cans and 200,000 filled cans and halting production for weeks while the city water system was offline. NoDa responded by trucking supplies to Asheville residents and brewing more than 1,000 barrels of Hi-Wire beer, including contract production of Hi-Pitch, Lo-Pitch, and Hazy Pitch IPAs, while Hi-Wire’s operations were disrupted.

Peter Batinski, Head Brewer at Hi-Wire Brewing, framed the new release in that context: “NoDa had our backs when things were pretty dark around here. Getting to brew this beer with them and raise money for folks still rebuilding, that’s what the beer community is all about.” Representatives from Hi-Wire, NoDa, and ARCHR will be available for interviews and photos at a public Brew Day and media opportunity scheduled for Friday, February 27 at 10:30 AM at Hi-Wire Brewing Biltmore Village, 2A Huntsman Place, Asheville, NC 28803.

Public statements from the partners indicate proceeds will support ARCHR’s mission to provide no-cost repairs to qualified low-income families whose homes were damaged by Helene’s flooding. The breweries describe the donation as tied to draft and canned sales; partners also describe the effort as supporting ARCHR’s broader recovery work in western North Carolina.

Odyssey IPA will be available starting March 27 in Hi-Wire and NoDa taprooms and in four-packs at retail while supplies last. The release blends local relief fundraising with craft-beer collaboration, using donated ingredients and printing support from industry suppliers and marking a regional effort to channel beer sales into continued Helene recovery.
