Bologna Performing Arts Center revives summer movie series for 2026

The Bologna Performing Arts Center announced on May 21 that it was bringing back its Summer Movie Series for 2026, and the price stayed at $5 a ticket. BPAC said the program was aimed at families, summer program students and movie lovers across the Mississippi Delta, giving Cleveland another low-cost summer outing tied to one of the city’s main cultural venues.

The series is anchored at BPAC, 1003 W. Sunflower Road, Cleveland, MS 38733, on the campus of Delta State University. That location matters in a city where affordable entertainment options can be limited in the hotter months, because it puts a family movie night within a short drive for local residents and students already spending time around the university and downtown area.

BPAC also paired the 2026 revival with BMC for education activities, adding a learning component to the screenings. That combination helps explain why the series is more than a standard cinema listing: it is designed as a shared public event where children, teens and parents can gather in one place and use the same venue for both entertainment and enrichment.

The 2026 announcement fit a clear pattern in BPAC’s own history. The center’s archive shows summer movie programming in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and its 2022 promotion described that year’s series as being in its tenth year. BPAC has also used a season pass in past promotions, including a post titled BPAC $5 Summer Movie Series Kicks Off May 23 with New Season Pass, which suggests the movies have been built as a repeat summer habit rather than a one-time experiment.
