Cleveland WIN Job Center moves to new Davis Street address

Job seekers who had been going to 119 Commerce Ave. in Cleveland now need to head to 604 1/2 North Davis, where the Cleveland WIN Job Center began operating after the old office closed effective May 15 and the new location took effect May 26. For people who depend on the center for in-person help, the move changes the building, not the service.

The office remains one of the clearest public entry points for work support in Bolivar County. Mississippi Department of Employment Security says WIN Job Centers provide job-search help, online services and career guidance, and they are part of the American Job Center Network. At the Cleveland office, that help includes job placement, WIOA services, priority services for veterans, Trade Adjustment Assistance support, Job Corps connections and on-the-job training. MDES says its employment representatives can help people navigate a job search, and the center is equipped with computers for that work.

Several partner services are still tied to the Cleveland location. The Department of Rehabilitation Services helps people with disabilities on Wednesday mornings, Mississippi Delta Community College handles GED and WIOA program information on Mondays and Thursdays, and the Mississippi Delta Council offers migrant farm worker referrals. That mix matters in Cleveland, where a single office can connect residents to training, education and basic job placement support without sending them across multiple agencies.

Employers also continue to have a local door to knock on. The Cleveland WIN Job Center lists recruiting and screening job candidates, along with interview space for hiring efforts. MDES’s statewide WIN map identifies Cleveland as one of the job center locations in the Delta workforce area, underscoring that the office is part of a larger state workforce network that serves job seekers, claimants and employers across Mississippi.

For Cleveland residents, the practical takeaway is simple: the Commerce Avenue site is closed, but the workforce help did not disappear. Anyone who uses the WIN Job Center for job search support, training referrals or employer connections now finds that same service at 604 1/2 North Davis.
