Carrollton House Fire Spreads from Garage to Attic, Sends One to Hospital
A garage fire tore through a Carrollton home on Furneaux Lane last week, climbing into the attic before Medic 114 rushed one person to the hospital.

A house fire that broke out on Furneaux Lane in Carrollton last Wednesday consumed a single-story home from the garage up through the attic, injuring at least one person who required hospital transport.
Emergency responders arrived on March 4, 2026, to find the blaze had already pushed beyond the garage where it originated, extending into the attic space above. The progression from garage to attic is a recognized fire behavior pattern in single-story construction, where unfinished attic cavities can allow flames to travel rapidly once breached.
Medic 114, the local emergency medical services unit, transported at least one occupant to a hospital. The nature and severity of that person's injuries were not immediately confirmed in available reports.
City fire crews worked the scene to contain the spread and prevent the fire from reaching neighboring structures. The cause of the blaze had not been publicly disclosed as of the time of this report.

The Furneaux Lane fire is a reminder of how quickly garage fires, often fueled by stored vehicles, fuel containers, or workshop materials, can escalate into full structural losses. Investigators would typically examine ignition sources in the garage, including electrical systems, appliances, and fuel storage, as part of a routine origin-and-cause determination.
No additional victims were reported at the scene. As of March 10, no further updates on the hospitalized individual's condition had been made publicly available.
