Collin College Summer Camps Open Registration April 20 Across County Campuses

Princeton grew faster than any other American city in 2023-2024, adding more than 30 percent to its population in a single year. The families who arrived during that surge are among the thousands of Collin County households now counting down to April 20, when Collin College opens registration for summer camps spanning robotics, jazz, automotive exploration and creative writing across six county campuses.

Confirmed 2026 programs include Robotics, Automotive Exploration, Creative Writing, Jazz Camp and College for Kids, offered at campuses in Allen, Celina, Farmersville, McKinney, Plano and Wylie. Past summers have also featured coding, construction trades, health-care introduction and arts programs segmented by age group. Several programs are expected to fill quickly after registration opens.

The Jazz Camp carries a built-in deadline: families who register on April 20 pay the early-bird rate of $305 per student. Starting April 21, the rate rises to $330 and holds through June 8, meaning opening-day registration saves $25 per child.

For students entering grades 7 through 9, College for Kids runs Monday through Thursday on two consecutive weeks: June 15-18 and June 22-25, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The format centers on project-based inquiry learning in a college campus setting.

Pricing has historically kept the programs within reach of a broad range of families. A forensic science camp the college offered in 2023 cost $100 per participant, including snacks. Families with financial need should ask directly about scholarships and tiered pricing options when registering. The Frisco Chamber of Commerce has previously described the college's summer programs as a workforce pipeline, linking hands-on camp experiences to STEM and skilled-trades career development.

The competition for spots mirrors the pace at which the county itself is growing. Collin County added nearly 47,000 residents between July 2023 and July 2024, then added nearly 43,000 more the following year, ranking second in the United States for total new residents. The county now absorbs roughly 100 new residents every single day. Dallas County, by contrast, lost more than 2,600 residents between 2024 and 2025. The Texas Demographic Center projects Collin County will reach nearly 2.4 million residents by 2060, close to double its current population.
