Fairview Police Investigate Deaths of Elderly Woman, Son After Welfare Check
An employer's welfare call led Fairview officers to force entry into a Shinnecock Court home, where they found an 83-year-old woman and her 59-year-old son dead.

Fairview police are investigating after officers forced their way into a home on the 1300 block of Shinnecock Court on Tuesday afternoon and discovered the bodies of an 83-year-old woman and her 59-year-old son. An employer had called the department out of concern for a resident of the home, prompting the welfare check that turned fatal.
The discovery on March 12 was not the first time officers had visited the Shinnecock Court address. The week prior, Fairview police had responded to the same home for a separate welfare check, interviewed both individuals, and determined they were not in any immediate danger. Officers left after being assured that the two would seek counseling services through their church if necessary.
The Fairview Police Department has not released the names of the deceased and says the causes of death remain unknown. Detectives are continuing their investigation, and no charges have been reported.

The department is the primary source of information in this case. Residents with relevant information can contact Fairview police through the town's non-emergency line or via the municipality's Nixle notification system, both listed on the Town of Fairview's official site.
