Frisco Police Arrest John Mashtare, SWAT Seizes Evidence from Million-Dollar Home
Frisco SWAT arrested 46-year-old John Elden Mashtare Jr. after executing warrants at his Stone Canyon Drive mansion; affidavit says a drone captured him “attempting to place an item” near an AC unit.

A search warrant affidavit obtained by WFAA shows Frisco police, including members of the Frisco SWAT team, arrested 46-year-old John Elden Mashtare Jr. after executing arrest and search warrants at his Stone Canyon Drive mansion; overhead drone footage taken during the operation captured Mashtare “attempting to place an item” on or near the air conditioning unit in the backyard. The affidavit and photos sent to WFAA tied the operation to a criminal case alleging misconduct with a juvenile.
According to the affidavit, officers and drone operators approached Mashtare’s front door at approximately 9:10 a.m. on Feb. 3, announced their presence and loudly knocked on the door. The affidavit says two officers then saw Mashtare go to the backyard and gave him verbal commands to surrender. Mashtare did not comply and instead moved out of sight behind a pool grotto, the affidavit states, before the drone captured the activity near the AC unit and Frisco’s SWAT team took Mashtare into custody.
The arrest warrants filed in connection with the operation charge Mashtare with child sex assault and purchasing alcohol for a minor, according to WFAA, Yahoo’s republish of that reporting, and a Threads post linking to 13newsnow. The arrest warrant obtained by WFAA says the search stemmed from a report of a 16-year-old girl who told police Mashtare allegedly took her to Concrete Cowboy in Frisco on Sept. 24, 2025, bought her drinks, then later returned to his mansion, where she alleged she was intoxicated and he had sexual intercourse with her. WFAA and Kens5 report that police obtained surveillance footage from Concrete Cowboy showing a juvenile female seated at a table with Mashtare during the timeframe the teen described.

Kens5 cites court records and jail logs confirming Mashtare was arrested earlier this month and charged with the offenses, and the outlet reports officers executed both arrest warrants and a search warrant for the home. The property targeted in the raid is described in reporting as a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home on Stone Canyon Drive with a Zillow estimate of $2.7 million; WFAA published photos showing SWAT officers outside the residence.
While WFAA’s coverage said the “search warrant affidavit obtained by WFAA gave new insight into the SWAT raid at a multi-million dollar mansion in Frisco and what was taken from the home during the raid,” the affidavit excerpts in reporting identify only the drone footage of Mashtare “attempting to place an item” near the air conditioner and do not list a detailed inventory of seized property. Public records requests and the full search-warrant return and arrest affidavit will be necessary to confirm whether that item was recovered and to obtain the complete list of evidence logged by investigators.
