Kiddie Academy Opens STEM-Focused Child Care Center in Trinity Falls
With thousands of new homes under construction and few nearby childcare options, Kiddie Academy opened at 210 Somerville Drive in McKinney's Trinity Falls, taking infants from six weeks up.

When Sreenath Reddy Putta and Reshma Kankanala surveyed Trinity Falls, they found streets packed with new construction and almost no childcare within reach. Their answer opened last week at 210 Somerville Drive in McKinney: Kiddie Academy of Trinity Falls, a franchise of the nationally recognized Kiddie Academy Educational Child Care chain.
"Trinity Falls is a rapidly growing community, and we recognized a need for high-quality childhood education close to home," Putta said in the opening announcement. "With thousands of new homes planned and limited child care options nearby, we are proud to provide families" a curriculum-based option without a long commute.
The center accepts children starting at six weeks, spanning infant care through school-age before- and after-school programs for kindergarteners and older kids. That full-age sweep matters in a master-planned community where households often include children at multiple stages; parents of an infant and a first-grader can, in theory, consolidate drop-off at a single address.
The STEM focus runs through every age band rather than existing as a standalone add-on. For two-year-olds the early preschool program incorporates technology and outdoor discovery activities; pre-K four-year-olds work with hands-on math and science builds; kindergartners use STEM to turn everyday tasks into structured inquiry. The framework sits inside Kiddie Academy's proprietary Life Essentials curriculum, which targets six developmental outcomes: Character, Confidence, Curiosity, Connection, Critical Thinking, and Creative Expression. A companion Academy Link app extends classroom projects into the home.

Kankanala and Putta marked the opening with a public STEM Adventures event on March 28, inviting Trinity Falls families to tour classrooms, meet teachers, and participate in hands-on science and engineering activities. Enrollment is open; families can request information or schedule a tour through the academy's website or by visiting the Somerville Drive location.
Trinity Falls sits within one of the fastest-growing residential corridors in Collin County, where new-home construction has repeatedly outpaced the expansion of childcare infrastructure. Kiddie Academy, which was founded in 1981 and operates locations across the country, has made North Texas growth communities a deliberate expansion target, with the Trinity Falls site adding to an existing McKinney-area presence.
