Before a single paying customer walked through the doors Tuesday morning, Bojangles spent the night before feeding the people who keep Vineland running. The Southern chain hosted a private pre-opening event at its new 3341 South Delsea Drive location, honoring the community's police officers, EMTs, firefighters, and medics, with city officials present for a "biscuit-cutting" ceremony that stood in for the traditional ribbon cutting.

Bojangles opened its second New Jersey restaurant on Tuesday, March 24, at 3341 S. Delsea Drive, occupying the former Burger King building just off Route 55 and minutes from Cumberland Mall. The Vineland location is the chain's first foothold in South Jersey, arriving roughly a year after Bojangles made its initial New Jersey entry in Piscataway in 2025.

The Vineland opening is part of an aggressive Northeast push. Earlier last year, Bojangles announced plans to open 35 restaurants across New Jersey, with Vineland identified among the initial targets. The brand, founded in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1977, spent decades building a loyal following across the Southeast before beginning its expansion into the Northeast.

Customers at the new location won't find the chain's iconic bone-in fried chicken, a deliberate choice for the New Jersey rollout. The Delsea Drive menu centers on chicken tenders and sandwiches, made-from-scratch biscuits, and signature sides including Dirty Rice, baked macaroni and cheese, and Bo-Tato Rounds. A full breakfast menu built around Bojangles' biscuits is available all day, with options ranging from sausage, egg, and cheese to a Southern gravy biscuit platter. Desserts are expected to include strawberry cobbler and milkshakes. As part of the Vineland opening celebration, Bojangles is also giving 10 customers free breakfast for a year.

The Delsea Drive corridor, anchored by Cumberland Mall and heavy Route 55 commuter traffic, gives the chain one of the most-traveled commercial strips in South Jersey's largest city. Until recently, Bojangles operated roughly 800 locations nationwide with no presence in New Jersey at all. The back-to-back openings in Piscataway and Vineland represent the brand's most deliberate effort yet to plant a flag in the region, and its decision to spend opening eve with first responders rather than influencers or press suggests it's pitching itself as more than a drive-thru destination.
