Decatur County Memorial Hospital Upgrades Patient Portal, Adds Mammogram Self-Scheduling
DCMH launched a refreshed patient portal April 2, adding mammogram self-scheduling for the first time at Greensburg's only inpatient hospital.

Decatur County Memorial Hospital added mammogram self-scheduling to its patient portal on April 2, the latest expansion of digital access at Greensburg's only inpatient healthcare provider.
The update is part of a broader refresh of DCMH's Meditech-powered portal, available on desktop and through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Patients kept the same login credentials while gaining a redesigned interface featuring a calendar-view dashboard showing upcoming appointments at a glance, improved navigation, and enhanced search tools for locating messages, visit summaries, and health records. Lab results and diagnostic reports are also presented with greater clarity under the new design.
Mammogram self-scheduling is a new addition to capabilities the portal already offered, including Family Medicine appointments and advance scheduling with the Immediate Care Clinic. Patients registered for the portal can log in, select the type of appointment, and browse a full schedule view to find a time that fits.
Jessica Hunter, DCMH's Lead Mammography Technologist, spoke directly to the significance of the change. "Making care easier to access is one of the most meaningful ways we can support our patients," Hunter said. "By expanding self-scheduling and improving the overall portal experience, we're helping patients take a more active role in their health."
The hospital also emphasized in its announcement that "regular screenings play a critical role in early detection and improved outcomes." That message aligns with American Cancer Society data showing breast cancers found during screening are more likely to be smaller and less likely to have spread outside the breast, two of the strongest predictors of prognosis. Healthy People 2030, a federal initiative from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has set a target of 80.3 percent of women aged 50 to 74 receiving breast cancer screenings in line with current guidelines.
For DCMH, which holds critical access hospital status and operates as the sole inpatient provider in Decatur County, the portal refresh carries particular weight. The hospital at 720 N Lincoln St offers digital mammography alongside OB/Women's Center services, cardiac rehab, emergency care, and specialty services. CEO and President Linda Simmons has long described community engagement as central to its mission.
The refreshed portal is accessible at dcmh.net/patient-portal.
